Home Assistant Bridge
Home Assistant Bridge for Orbit OS
Seamlessly connect your Orbit OS device to Home Assistant — the leading open-source home automation platform — over MQTT.
What it does
Home Assistant Bridge discovers your device's GPIO pins, PWM channels, system sensors, and network interfaces and exposes them as native Home Assistant entities. No manual YAML configuration required: entities appear automatically in Home Assistant the moment you enable them.
Features
- GPIO control — expose input pins as binary sensors and output pins as switches, controllable directly from Home Assistant dashboards and automations
- PWM channels — control duty cycle (0–100%) of any PWM channel as a number entity
- System metrics — publish CPU usage, CPU frequency, SoC temperature, memory, disk usage, load averages, disk I/O, and network traffic as sensor entities, with per-metric granularity
- Network monitoring — Wi-Fi and Ethernet status, IP address, signal strength, MAC address, gateway, DNS, and more
- System information — OS version, runtime, hardware model, processor details and board info exposed as sensors
- Power control — trigger device reboot or shutdown directly from Home Assistant
- MQTT auto-discovery — all entities register themselves in Home Assistant automatically; no broker configuration needed beyond the IP address
- Selective publishing — master enable/disable per category (GPIO, PWM, Power, Network, System Info, Metrics) and per individual metric, without losing your configuration
- Built-in settings UI — configure everything through a clean web interface accessible from the Orbit OS app portal; no SSH required
Requirements
- Home Assistant with MQTT integration enabled
- An MQTT broker (e.g. Mosquitto) reachable from the device
