Orbit Flow
Orbit Flow lets you build automation by wiring blocks in your browser: read a Modbus register, switch a relay when an input closes, publish a value over MQTT, show a gauge on your phone. The flows run on the Orbit OS device itself.
You drag nodes onto a canvas, connect them and press Deploy. If you have used Node-RED, you will find the same way of working: the same node names (Inject, Debug, Function, Switch, Change, Trigger, Split, Join…), the same msg.payload and msg.topic, Deploy with Full, Modified Flows or Modified Nodes, and Stop and Start Flows.
What you can connect:
- Industrial devices: Modbus TCP and RTU, OPC UA, Siemens S7 and MQTT
- The device's own hardware, through the Orbit OS API: GPIO, PWM, I²C, SPI and serial ports (RS-232, RS-485, USB adapters)
- HTTP, TCP and UDP, with JSON, XML and CSV
- Files on the device, which you can view and download from the app
- Your phone, with push notifications through the Orbit OS mobile app
What you get:
- A dashboard: gauges, charts, text, switches, sliders and buttons, made for the phone and updated live
- Logic without code (switch, change, delay, trigger, filter, range, state machine), or with code in JavaScript, expressions or Go
- Outputs that go off when the flows stop: GPIO and PWM outputs return to a safe state, off by default
- Ready-made examples, from first steps to Modbus relay boards, energy meters, GPS on a serial port and irrigation
- Accounts with roles: admins, editors, and viewers who can use the dashboard without changing the flows
- A light and a dark theme
The flows, accounts and files stay on the device. There is no cloud service and no account to create elsewhere, and the device does not need internet access unless a flow uses it.
Orbit Flow is based on LOOPZE by Dennis Bleul. Its source code is open (AGPL-3.0).
After installation, open the device portal at http://<device_ip>, select the Orbit Flow icon and create the administrator account.
